1.(Amor)Integration strategies that should be considered when implementing new technology include communicating and collaborating with team members to understand the goals and timelines, policies, security, legal and compliance also must be reviewed and are part of the strategy. Having a proper training curriculum in place to get all employees trained is key to success of the project. Understanding that providing good quality of care which includes minimal disruption to patient care is very important to a successful treatment plan.

Having clear objectives and open channels of communication with employees about the integration is important as employees feel that we are listening to them and we are being proactive with their feedback. Change is the only constant and as technology evolves especially in health care, we must get use to change and embrace it. Some issues that I have seen in organizations is that employees provide feedback about things that need to be changed or improved however managers do not demonstrate the willingness to work with the employees. This causes employees to be discouraged and they no longer collaborate. As managers we should approach and act on feedback that is provided by employees especially during the integration of a new system. (PROVIDE RESPONSE)

2.(Catricia)When implementing new technology into a health care organization, the strategic integration of employee training must be in order. Employees must be throughly trained on the system being integrated so that the transition can be smooth with little errors. This will decrease the rate of hiccups during day to day processes and the technology is implemented. A lot of confusion can happen when this is not done properly and can leave patients and employees frustrated. 

Proper research and planning should also be integrated before, during, and after the change. By researching the type of technology the organization will need, for example, how many machines the organization needs, or if a whole department needs to be created, will ensure the success of the implementation. If an organization overlooks this key aspect, it could lead to a decrease in the quality of care it’s patients receives. 

In order to receive buy-in from employees, the healthcare manager must understand the flow of the organization before making the change and communicate to the employees how the change will help the organization thrive. Remaining positive and creating an atmosphere where the employees feel knowledgeable, appreciated, and valued will help the transition even the more. The employees have to be able to feel like it’s not a dictatorship. They must be able to give feedback and their feedback must also be taken into consideration. This will they will be more likely to make the necessary adjustments, and be fully on board with helping the implementation of the new technology. (PROVIDE RESPONSE)
