From Chapter 11 – Translation ExposureKnowing how to create Excel models is highly regarded skill in the workplace. This exercise will give you a taste of the work that goes into creating a workable, organized and clean looking model. You will need to create 2 models in total from chapter 11. Create an Excel model identical to Exhibit 11.5 – Current Rate MethodCreate an Excel model identical to Exhibit 11.6 – Temporal Method•Models must be formatted in the same manner as textbook (clean look and I am picky about this !)•Models should use formulas where it is necessary (point of models is to automate the work) I will check your formulas.•Create model so the user can simply enter whatever ending rate they desire, and the model computes the translation adjustment automatically. Highlight in yellow the cells that the user can update AND the model updates automatically. Build the model with the user in mind.•Label your tabs according to the exhibit #.•Highest grades will be given to those that have a workable model (accurate when I change the ending rate) that looks good (formatted like the textbook); average grade will be given to those that show good effort but cannot build a workable model that is accurate but looks good (formatted according to textbook). Low grade will be given to inaccurate, poorly formatted, incomplete, hardcoded models. Copyrighted Content – Do Not Distribute3

From Chapter 12 – Operating ExposureKnowing how to create Excel models is highly regarded skill in the workplace. This exercise will give you a taste of the work that goes into creating a workable, organized and clean looking model. You will need to create 2 models in total from chapter 12. After reading the chapter:Create an Excel model identical to Exhibit 12.5 – Ganado German Valuation: Baseline Analysis•Models should be formatted in the same manner as textbook (clean look)•Models should use formulas where it is necessary (point of models is to automate the work)•Highlight in yellow the cells that can be changed by the user (the point is to guide the user); the model should recompute the Present Value calculation automatically, by changing the input cells.•Highest grades will be given to those that have a workable model (accurate when I change the ending rate) that looks good (formatted like the textbook); average grade will be given to those that show good effort but cannot build a workable model that is accurate but looks good (formatted according to textbook). Low grade will be given to inaccurate, poorly formatted, incomplete, hardcoded models. After you create the first model, make a copy (new tab) and change your assumptions (highlighted in yellow) to make the spreadsheet identical to Exhibit 12.6 – This is your second model! If you create your first model right, your second model can be created in a shorter time.Label your tabs according to the exhibit #. Copyrighted Content – Do Not Distribute4
